This week Jazmin learned the importance of embracing flexibility herself and the way it actually works when a counselor wants to change their schedule to prioritize important life events. Then, we announce and tease our special holiday episode on Christmas Day! The real countdown to Christmas starts now!

In our interview, we talked to Kim Frueh, who is currently retired from counseling work. She now owns the Body Shop Movement Studio in San Marcos, Texas and teaches yoga. She was previously a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Sex Offender Treatment Provider in Texas. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of North Texas and a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Texas State University - San Marcos.

As a professional counselor, she had quite a few different work experiences including working at a residential treatment program for adolescent sex offenders and running a group practice with several other counselors in Austin, Texas. Kim shares details about her group practice formation experience and what it meant to her work and practice once she had her daughter.

With Kim we talk a lot about her process and decision making in retiring from counseling work and into doing something else. We explore not just the thought process and emotional aspects of this for her, but also the little technical aspects like terminating gradually with clients. Kim is someone who still respects the counseling profession, maintains a deep love of helping and serving others, and exemplifies what it looks like to listen to your own needs and life purpose.
